12mm thick, heavy gauge solid core steel to provide extra strength. a clean single piece finish without screws or bolts to reveal the infamous 'X' shape which is in keeping with the original specification of The Barcelona chair.__Individual genuine leather panels are cut for the seat cushions and hand welted and tufted. Each individual leather panel is then hand stitched and piped to cover the seat cushions. Top grain Italian leather is used on the cushions for a soft buttery finish. The cushions are supported by buckle straps and not Velcro straps as on inferior versions. The back cushion is slightly curved to the shape of the steel as per the original design
